Who are we

ALTERITAS – Interaction among Peoples. is an accredited research organization founded in Verona in 2009, dedicated to the study of cultural contacts, mobility and knowledge circulation between societies of the past and present.

Since 2016, Alteritas has developed a strong European dimension through active participation in COST actions, Horizon 2020 / MSCA-RISE projects and Erasmus+., coordinating and contributing to international research and innovation partnerships. In these contexts it collaborates with European universities, schools, research centers and cultural institutions to design initiatives that bring research, education and society into dialogue.

The association brings together a network of more than 50 scholars and scholars from diverse disciplines-including linguistics, archaeology, history, digital humanities, education, and cultural heritage-ensuring a pluralistic and multidisciplinary approach to contemporary research challenges. This diversity of expertise is a major strength of Alteritas and fosters the development of innovative methodologies and collaborative research environments.

Alongside its project activities, Alteritas organizes conferences, training schools and dissemination initiatives and publishes scholarly works through its open access publishing house, Alteritas Academy Press, promoting the dissemination of interdisciplinary research and dialogue with society.
